Your trip starts early morning. Your private driver picks you up from your home, hotel, or airport in Delhi and begins the drive towards Nainital. The first part of the journey goes through the plains of Uttar Pradesh. After crossing Haldwani, the road starts climbing into the hills.

The scenery changes beautifully—you leave the flat roads behind and enter winding mountain roads surrounded by pine and oak trees. The air gets cooler and fresher with every kilometer.

Arrive in Nainital
Nainital is a lovely hill town built around a kidney-shaped lake. It sits about 2,000 meters above sea level and was a favorite summer spot during British times. Even today, the town has that old colonial charm with neat streets, old churches, and beautiful lake views.

Check in to your hotel and take some rest. In the evening, walk along Mall Road, which runs beside the lake. You'll see small shops, cafés, and people enjoying boat rides. If the weather is good, you can also go for a short boat ride on Naini Lake—it's peaceful and gives you great mountain views.

Overnight in Nainital.

After breakfast, spend the full day exploring Nainital and nearby spots. Your driver will help plan the route based on what you want to see.

Naina Devi Temple
This small temple is located on the northern edge of Naini Lake. According to local legend, this is the spot where the eyes (naina) of Goddess Sati fell. It's a peaceful place and many visitors start their day here.

Snow View Point
Take a cable car ride (ropeway) from the Mallital side to reach this viewpoint. On a clear day, you can see snow-covered Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi and Trisul. There's also a small café and souvenir shops at the top. The cable car ride itself is fun.

Tiffin Top (Dorothy's Seat)
This hilltop viewpoint is about 4 km from town. You can trek up (takes 30–40 minutes) or take a horse ride. From the top, you get a 360-degree view of Nainital town, the lake, and surrounding mountains. It's quiet, clean, and perfect for photos.

Mall Road and Shopping
Mall Road is the main street. You can walk, shop for woolens, candles, and local handicrafts, and enjoy snacks like momos, maggi, and hot tea. The Tibetan Market near Flats area is colorful and budget-friendly.

Naini Lake Boating
Boating is one of the most popular things to do here. Choose from paddle boats, rowboats, or motor boats. Early morning or evening time is best—the water is calm and the views are beautiful.

Optional Nearby Lakes (if time allows):

Bhimtal (22 km): Larger and quieter lake with an island

Sattal (23 km): Seven interconnected lakes, great for birdwatching

Naukuchiatal (26 km): Nine-cornered lake, very peaceful

Overnight in Nainital.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Jim Corbett. The drive is short and scenic—you pass through small villages, streams, and forests. The landscape changes as you come down from the hills into the Terai region.

About Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett is India's oldest national park, established in 1936. It was named after Jim Corbett, a British-Indian hunter who later became a wildlife conservationist and helped protect tigers in this area.

The park covers over 520 square kilometers and is home to Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, leopards, deer, wild boar, crocodiles, and more than 600 bird species. It's one of the best places in India to see wildlife in their natural environment.

Arrival and Check-In
Most hotels and jungle resorts are located near Ramnagar (the main town) or near zones like Jhirna and Bijrani. Many resorts have a jungle feel with cottages, gardens, and river views.

After check-in, relax at your resort. Some resorts organize nature walks or offer bonfires in the evening. If your hotel is near the Ramganga River, you can take a short walk along the riverbank (if it's safe and allowed).

Important: If you haven't booked your jungle safari yet, your hotel can help arrange it. Safaris need advance booking, especially during peak season (November to February).

Overnight in Jim Corbett.

Wake up early (around 5:30–6:00 AM) for the morning jungle safari inside Jim Corbett National Park.

Safari Experience
Safaris happen in open jeeps with a trained forest guide and driver. The safari lasts 3–4 hours depending on the zone you choose.

You'll drive through thick sal forests, open grasslands, and along riverbanks. The guide will point out animal tracks, bird calls, and interesting plants. If you're lucky, you may spot a Bengal tiger—but even without tigers, seeing elephants, spotted deer, peacocks, wild boars, and colorful birds is a wonderful experience.

Safari Zones:

Jhirna Zone: Open year-round, good for tigers and elephants

Bijrani Zone: Very popular, mix of forest and grassland

Dhikala Zone: Most famous but requires overnight stay inside

Durga Devi Zone: Good for birdwatching

Safari timings change with sunrise/sunset times. Permits are issued online by the forest department or can be arranged through your hotel.

After Safari
Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, visit nearby local attractions:

Corbett Falls
A small waterfall surrounded by greenery, about 25 km from Ramnagar. It's a nice spot for a nature walk and photography.

Garjiya Devi Temple
A temple built on a big rock in the middle of the Kosi River. You climb steps to reach it, and the views of the river and forest are lovely.

Corbett Museum (Kaladhungi)
This was Jim Corbett's winter home. It's now a small museum with old photos, letters, and hunting equipment. It gives you a look into his life and work.

Evening free to relax at your resort.
